Michelle Branch Stalker Arrested

A man that was accused of stalking Michelle Branch was arrested at her concert in Sheboygan. She pointed the man out to security personnel while she was onstage.
Cali Haas was in the crowd, she told media "Michelle Branch just said 'Wait a second. There's a guy in the audience-striped shirt and glasses-can somebody check him out?'"
Dominick Giordano who is 32, was arrested for disorderly conduct. He had been following Branch to concerts around the country since 2003. He regularly sends her letters and videos. A police report said that he had previously managed to sneak backstage at concerts and into post-concert parties. He even lunged at her during an autograph signing once.
"He used to get his way into meet-and-greets and private events some how and would try to approach her and touch her and just really inappropriate stuff," said Branch's road manager, Joshua Scott.

U2's Bono Is Now A British Knight

Bono became a knight of the British Empire today. He joked that his son thought he was going to be a Jedi.

Bono, who is now 46, was named Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. The ceremony was pretty informal in the Dublin home of British Ambassador David Reddaway.

Anna Nicole Smith's Cause of Death Revealed

Anna Nicole Smith's cause of death has now been determined. It was decided that she died as the result of an "accidental" drug overdose. She had 9 different prescription drugs in her system including a very strong sleeping medicine. A blood infection and flu symptoms are believed to have contributed to her death as well. The cause of death was revealed by Broward County Medical Examiner Joshua Perper and Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger at a press conference today.
"We are convinced this is an accidental overdose, with no other criminal elements present," Tiger said. Perper said some of the drugs found in Smith's system included antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and painkillers, as well as the powerful sleeping medication chloral hydrate. The medications found in her system were still within "therapeutic levels," but the chloral hydrate "tipped the balance" making the combination lethal.
Perper said, "It was only when we had the chloral hydrate that we were able to put the picture together and realize that the chloral hydrate, in combination with the other therapeutic levels [of medications] resulted, unfortunately, in her death.

Britney Spears Out Of Rehab

Britney Spears is done with rehab. Unfortunately the press is still all over the subject. Her lawyers are working very hard to try and keep her out of the media’s eyes. They got a British court to bar the media there from publishing stories that have supposedly “insider” information about her month long stay at the California treatment center.
This was done because they are trying to stop the unidentified persons who have been making “false allegations” about Britney Spears to the media. So far her lawyers have not tried doing this with the media in the United States. According to Sandra Baron, the executive director of the New York-based Media Law Resource Center, courts just don’t pull the prior restraint card on publications. She said “it is virtually unheard of, they don’t do it in national security cases, and they certainly wouldn’t do it in privacy cases.”
It has been even harder for Britney Spears to get any privacy since her break down last month. She has been followed to the hair dresser where they saw her shave her head, then to the tattoo parlor where she got her tattoo, and then even to Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings.
News about her diva like behavior while she was in the Promises rehab center was leaked to magazines like Star and Us Weekly.
There is also talk that Britney’s lawyers in the U.K. intend to challenge the false allegations that have already been published. We don’t know specifically which of the reported stories the Britney Spears’ people are upset about.
Britney Spears, now 25 years old, checked out of Promises on Tuesday. She never actually said why she checked in in the first place.

I Need Some Traffic!!!

I started this blog because celebrities really amuse me sometimes and I wanted to share my amusement with others. The only problem is that nobody is finding my blog. I am getting about 20 or so visitors a day, but I am looking to get more. If there is anyone out there that stumbles upon my blog that would like to help me share my blog with the world that would be awesome. I am trying to find a few people who would be willing to put my link on their website or blog. I would be more than willing to put a couple of links up on my blog as well. If there is anybody out there who might be interested in helping me please leave me a comment. It would be greatly appreciated. Well I will be doing my next celebrity post either later today or tomorrow. So until next time...

Naomi Campbell to do Community Service in NYC

Naomi Campbell started her 5 day community service sentence today. She was given a sentence of 5 days of community service for assaulting her maid. She will be serving her sentence in a sanitation garage in New York City.

Naomi is now 36-years old, she will be pushing a broom and mop at the Manhattan District 3 Garage at Pier 36 on the Hudson. She plead guilty to misdemeanor assault for throwing a cell phone at her maid over a pair of missing jeans.

When she was lead into the the building's dirty, steel, double doors, by a garage official, she didn't even acknowledge the media surrounding the building. Albert Durrell, the deputy chief of the Department told reporters "Miss Campbell arrived on time to work. She came ready to work."

She is serving her community service at the same facility as Boy George. He plead guilty for falsely reporting a burglary at his lower Manhattan apartment, and the responding officer found no burglar, but plenty of cocaine. He also served 5 days back in August. Boy George served his sentence outside for all of the news cameras to see, but Naomi Campbell will serve her sentence indoors where she will not be seen. But she will have to wear protective gloves, dust mask, and a reflective orange vest. That is probably why she wants to work inside!

Durrell told the media "We have plenty of work for her to do over the next five days." He also told media that since Naomi Campbell is so famous there will be sanitation police officers stationed at each entrance of the facility.

Campbell, who is often in the spotlight because of her angry outbursts, plead guilty in January for hitting Ana Scolavino in the back of the head with the phone last March. Scolavino was treated for head injuries.

After pleading guilty, she was ordered to pay Scolavino's medical expenses of $363, do 5 days of community service, and attend a 2 day anger-management program.

No News About Paris Hilton

Recently, the Associated Press decided to basically boycott news about Paris Hilton for a week. While this was an interesting experience, there was still very unnecessary news about other celebrities. Officials from the Associated Press explained that the editors just wanted to see the result of not showing any stories on the partying heiress. And just a note, there was nobody who complained about wanting to see more Paris Hilton news. It was stated that nothing exciting happened in Paris' life during the boycott. She turned 26 and had a birthday party in Las Vegas. Other than that, nothing happened. I hope that this makes other news stations reevaluate their celebrity "news" stories to determine if this is really news. The end of the boycott occurred when the Associated Press noticed that Paris had been arrested on Feb. 27 for driving with a suspended licence. While that may be funny, I don't think it is news. Oh well, I guess there will always be celebrity news as long as there are always celebrities doing stupid things.

Salma Hayek Pregnant and Engaged

If you haven’t heard the news yet, Salma Hayek is pregnant with her first child at the tender age of 40. She also just got engaged. In a statement of Friday, Hayek’s publisher announced that “Businessman Francois-Henri Pinault and his fiancĂ©e, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child.”

Hayek’s fiancĂ© Pinault is the CEO of PPR. It is the world’s third largest luxury conglomerate. It owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, the French department store Printemps, catalog giant La Redoute and the music/bookstore chain FNAC.

Ben Widdicombe, a New York Daily News columnist, was the first to break the news of the pregnancy and engagement at perezhilton.com.

Hayek just won a Golden Globe for the hit ABC series Ugly Betty. She is the executive producer of this show which won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy award.

From 1999-2003 Hayek was dating Edward Norton. After that she dated Josh Lucas, which lasted about a year. She used to joke in the past, saying “I keep waiting to meet a man who has more balls than I do.” She has been trying to keep a low profile in the dating scene for the past few years. She also said “What works in a relationship of very public people is not making the relationship public...keeping it as personal as it can be. It’s the only way it is real.” “It’s a little sad when you have to brag about how much you love someone. That kind of declaration doesn’t always reflect the moment of truth between two people who care deeply for each other. When that truth is there, you don’t need others to know it.”

Matt Sanchez Scandal

Harold Meyerson's column in today's Washington Post explains why the wing-nuts have the whole family values thing ass-backwards. Historically, the authoritarian right always professes to hate sex and their foot soldiers buy right into it. The passions that sex can unleash are too unpredictable for the straitjacketed kind of mind that is attracted to authoritarian movements.
As conservatives tell the tale, the decline of the American family, the rise in divorce rates, the number of children born out of wedlock all can be traced to the pernicious influence of one decade in American history: the '60s.The conservatives are right that one decade, at least in its metaphoric significance, can encapsulate the causes for the family's decline. But they've misidentified the decade. It's not the permissive '60s. It's the Reagan '80s.
The erosion of the "typical American family," which has mostly affected working class families, is a direct bi-product of the economic pressures of the brand of unrestricted Greed and Selfishness Capitalism pushed by clueless, egghead right-wing ideologues and their GOP allies. "Over the past 35 years, the massive changes in the U.S. economy have largely condemned American workers to lives of economic insecurity. No longer can the worker count on a steady job for a single employer who provides a paycheck and health and retirement benefits, too. Over the past three decades, workers' individual annual income fluctuations have consistently increased, while their aggregate income has stagnated. In the brave new economy of outsourced jobs and short-term gigs and on-again, off-again health coverage, American workers cannot rationally plan their economic futures. And with each passing year, as their level of economic security declines, so does their entry into marriage. Yet the very conservatives who marvel at the efficiency of our new, more mobile economy and extol the 'flexibility' of our workforce decry the flexibility of the personal lives of American workers. The right-wing ideologues who have championed outsourcing, offshoring and union-busting, who have celebrated the same changes that have condemned American workers to lives of financial instability, piously lament the decline of family stability that has followed these economic changes as the night the day."The right-wing ideology that powers the Republican Party has fueled the crisis in the traditional family and family values that the party continually runs against. What a racket! And, as Meyerson reminds us, there is no candidate that best personifies a decline in family values than the current Republican front-runner, Rudy Giuliani.I'm not certain, however-- and Meyerson doesn't touch it-- why so many closeted (as in self-loathing) homosexuals are attracted to the Republican Party. Sometimes it seems that half three quarters of the upper echelon of the GOP is a gay mafia screaming about the dangers of same sex marriage while prowling public toilets and seducing underage boys. And it certainly didn't start with now exposed Florida gay congressman Mark Foley or still unexposed Kentucky gay senator Mitch McConnell-- and it ain't ending there either. The party that deifies Ann Coulter's gutter bigotry is also the party that covers up for sexual predators in its own midst. And a new media frenzy-- worthy of a Brittney Spears head-shave or a Paris Hilton drug bust or a Jeff Gannon sleepover at the Bush White House-- is starting to form around another right wing ex-porn star/male prostitute pushed into the public consciousness by the Republican Noise Machine, particularly Fox "News." In fact, unless you're a Fox viewer-- or hire gay hookers-- you have probably never heard of Matt Sanchez. And you're better off.O'Reilly and Hannity introduced this hunky USMC reservist, Columbia University student and die-hard wing-nut to America on their GOP propaganda broadcasts. He came on to whine about Ivy League anti-military attitudes and, of course, he was a big star at this year's CPAC (where he got some kind of award not related to his penis size). But while Ann Coulter was trying to smear devoted family man John Edwards as a "faggot," Mr. Sanchez may have been wondering if anyone would out him as gay porn "actor" Rod Majors, star of the Republican family values flics, Jawbreaker, Donkey Dick and Glory Holes Of Fame 3. I don't know what Ann Coulter has to say about his much-touted "eleven inch uncut monster cock" but no doubt it had fellow CPAC attendee Mitch McConnell's little heart aflutter. McConnell never got to pose for a picture-- that we know of-- with Mr. Sanchez because Ann Coulter was all over him.Of course, Senator McConnell doesn't need to contact someone like Sanchez at CPAC. He can find him through his ads and hire him for a personal session if he'd like. He only charges $200 (in) and $250 (out). By the way, don't hit that link if you're offended by photos of the male anatomy and descriptions of what Republican closet queens do with each other when no one is looking. Sanchez has his own website with a picture of his gal Ann (no photos of McConnell or Foley or McCrery or Dreier) and he's all excited about his moment of fame. I wonder when he gets a sleep over at the White House. Karl?

Anna Nicole Smith Funeral

The body of Anna Nicole Smith was carried into a Bahamian church Friday in a mahogany coffin covered by a rhinestone-studded pink blanket as hundreds of people gathered outside to mourn the former Playboy Playmate and reality TV star.
As police watched in front of steel barricades, the coffin was carried down a red carpet, lowered onto a cart and wheeled into the white-columned Mount Horeb Baptist Church, whose pews were festooned with pink roses. Onlookers cried out "Anna! Anna!"
Moments earlier, Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, arrived in a white stretch limousine with an entourage of about 10 people. She wore a black dress and waved to the cheering crowd outside. There appeared to be fewer than 100 guests overall, even though an organizer said about 300 including an "Entertainment Tonight" camera crew had been invited to the private ceremony.
Richard Milstein, the court-appointed advocate for Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn, called for "respect and solemnity" for all those congregating outside, including a horde of reporters.
"Today we share our grief with all of you. … Today we come to you to carry out the final, most sacred, solemn act provided to any individual," he said.
Gazing at the ranks of TV cameras and police dressed in crisp white or tan tunics with blue trousers, Christie Rathgaber, a tourist, was amazed.
"She's got a presidential kind of media frenzy going on," said the 59-year-old nurse from Columbus, Ohio, who happened by the scene while waiting for nearby shops to open. "I'm just incredulous at all the fuss. She was not a world figure. She was not a queen. She was not a president. She was not anything … It's just way over the top."
The legal wrangling that began with Smith's unexpected death at age 39 won't end with the funeral: There is pending legal action on the custody of Smith's 5-month-old daughter, who stands to inherit a fortune, and on ownership of a Bahamas mansion Smith used to establish residency in the islands last year.
An official inquest into the mysterious death last September of Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, in the Bahamas is also pending. And Smith's mother will likely try to get the body out of the Bahamas, said her lawyer, Tom Pirtle, without elaborating.
A private plane carrying Smith's body left Florida early Friday after authorities escorted a black hearse to Miami International Airport, with news helicopters tracking the procession from the medical examiner's office in Fort Lauderdale.
The church ceremony was closed to all but the invited guests. A smaller group was planned for the burial later Friday at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Milstein said.
Dr. Joshua Perper, the Broward medical examiner, said he will announce Smith's cause of death next week. She died on Feb. 8 in a Florida hotel room.
"This was a complex case," Perper said. "It was an unusual case from a medical point of view."
Smith will be buried in a tiara and custom-made, beaded gown next to her son, said Patrik Simpson of Beverly Hills, Calif., who helped organize the memorial.
Simpson's partner, Pol Atteu, has designed more than a dozen gowns for Smith, including the one in which she is to be buried, he said. Simpson declined to describe the dress, but said Wednesday the ceremony will reflect Smith's buoyant personality.
"It will be a very beautiful, Anna Nicole send-off," he said. "Of course it will be over the top because it's Anna Nicole."
Arthur, Smith's boyfriend Howard K. Stern and her ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead were each allowed to have 100 guests at memorial service, he said, and about 30 people are on the guest list for the burial.
Arthur had wanted to bury Smith in her native Texas, and fought last week's court ruling that gave control of the body to Milstein, who agreed with Stern that the former Playboy Playmate wanted to be buried next to Daniel, who died of apparent drug-related causes last year.
Simpson said the casket would likely be closed.
Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26. The reality TV star and Playboy Playmate had been fighting his family over his estimated $500 million fortune since his death in 1995.

Clay Aiken's latest

Just over a year ago, singer Clay Aiken was discovered on “American Idol.” Now, he's enjoying the success of his debut album, "Measure Of A Man," which has already gone triple platinum. Aiken participated in The Early Show Summer Concert series, singing his latest single, “I Will Carry You,” along with "Invisible" and "The Way." “It’s a whirlwind dream,” Aiken told co-anchor Rene Syler. “It’s fun, you know. Every day’s different. Every day’s new and I’m excited all the time.” It is a dream he said he never thought would last this long. “I kind of went into this whole thing, thinking it could last a week, two weeks, maybe three months. It’s gone a little longer than that,” he said with a big smile, getting cheers from the audience. Asked what he misses about being regular old Clay Aiken versus superstar Clay Aiken, he said, “Initially, it was really exciting. Every time you went out in public, everybody wanted an autograph and you couldn’t go anywhere without people noticing you. We always used to compete when the contestants, finalists, were together: Who has more people running up to them? At this point, while it’s still exciting, there are times when you don’t want it to happen. You want to go shopping or you want to go walk down the street and be able to have a little anonymity. That doesn’t happen. But the benefits outweigh the downside all the time.” His biggest fan is his mom, who visited the show to see her son perform. “I think she always thought I’d do this, more so than I did,” Aiken said. “I think she dreamed this for me before I did. She would probably say that she knew this all along. So it’s just, for her, I think it’s just what she always expected. For me, it’s great to have her be able to be a part of it and to make her proud.” And with her smile, it showed she clearly is. Though interestingly, what Aiken says he ultimately wants to be is a news anchor. But for now, that will have to wait. The one-time YMCA camp counselor, who majored in special education, is hitting the road for a three-month headline solo tour starting Wednesday in Grand Fork, N.D. Last February, March, and April, he toured with fellow “American Idol” discovery Kelly Clarkson. Aiken has also been busy recording a holiday-themed CD, to be released for Christmas this year. And he has served as spokesperson and a reader for Stories for Heroes, a series of classic children's stories narrated by celebrities and sold as an enhanced CD audiobook. The first audiobook in the series will feature the Arthur Adventure series stories by Marc Brown and Aiken will be joined by celebrities who include Kelly Ripa, Kevin Bacon, Marcia Gay Harden, Daisy Fuentes and others. A majority of the proceeds from the sale of the audiobook will benefit The Bubel/Aiken Foundation. The Audiobook launched the week of July 5. Aiken is also singing "Proud Of Your Boy" in the new "Alladin" DVD out in the fall.

Brad and Angelina...Another Baby?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's decision to add a child from Vietnam to their family has been a long time coming. For months the couple have been preparing to find a sibling for Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and 10-month-old Shiloh, a "process that began shortly after Shiloh was born [in May]," a source tells PEOPLE in its new issue. It wasn't until March 2 that a Vietnamese official revealed that Jolie, 31, had filed preliminary papers to adopt a child – according to one adoption worker, "a boy between the ages of 3 and 5." (Vu Duc Long, the head of the country's international adoption department, told the Associated Press on Wednesday that the boy is between the ages of 3 and 4 and from the Tam Binh orphanage on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City.) But the source close to Jolie says there are still a few more steps before welcoming a new family member. "It's wonderful that people are excited about it," says the friend. "But she is only at the beginning of a very comprehensive and detailed process." Why Vietnam? Jolie has traveled extensively in Southeast Asia and has visited the country at least twice. After adopting Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia, she mused to Good Morning America in December that it might be a good idea to "balance the races so there's another African person in the house for Z [and] another Asian person in the house for Mad." As they navigate adoption red tape, the family of five has been happily settled in New Orleans since January, where Pitt, 43, has been filming the romance The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Locals frequently spot them strolling through the French Quarter, buying baby clothes (a "Dirty South" T-shirt for Maddox, a black dress for Zahara and a hot-pink onesie for Shiloh) and dining out with Button costar Cate Blanchett. Soon they'll return home to L.A., where Pitt will resume filming. Jolie, meanwhile, continues to speak out about the atrocities in Darfur as she awaits the phone call that will enable her to officially add to her brood. The good news can't come soon enough. "I just want more kids," she told PEOPLE recently. "I'm having a great time."

Britney Spears Suicide Attempt

Reports are circulating just about everywhere that pop princess Britney Spears attempted suicide more than once this weekend.
Spears is still rehabbing it up at the Promises rehab center in Malibu, but it looks like rehabilitation may not be on Brit’s mind. Allegedly, Spears attemped suicide twice this weekend because she was terrified that she would lose custody of her two young sons to estranged husband Kevin Federline.
Yeah, like that makes a whole lot of sense. You may lose custody, so you might as well kill yourself so your kids never see you again. Great logic there Britney. Anyhoo, I doubt these rumors are even true, but with no Anna Nicole Smith around anymore we all have to talk about something, right?
According to the National Enquirer, Britney was so overwhelmed with what is going on, she just gave up & tried to kill herself two times this weekend.
On one occasion, Spears is reported to have tried walking into traffic so that she might be creamed to her death by a passing Volvo, but was rescued by an unidentified member of her staff just in time.
Only a short time after the walking in traffic incident, Spears was reportedly rushed to a hospital after overdosing on Xanax tablets in yet another suicide attempt. Well, if you don’t succeed once, try, try, try again.
Who knows if these rumors are even true, but knowing Britney Spears, we haven’t heard the last of this & I think this even further reveals that a healthy Brit is a long way off. What do you think?

Ann Coulter's Media Mishap

Conservative bomb thrower Ann Coulter's lashing of 2008 Democratic presidential hopeful former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina over the weekend has created a firestorm with Democrats and Republicans alike rejecting her remarks.
At the Conservative Political Action Conference, an annual gathering of grass-roots conservative activists, Coulter, a best-selling author, referred to him using a disparaging word for a male homosexual.
"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I — so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards," Coulter said Friday at the gathering in Washington, D.C.
Later in the day, Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, wasted no time in pouncing on Coulter's remarks and calling for the Republican presidential field — many of whom were on hand to address the conference — to denounce Coulter's words.
Dean said, "There is no place in political discourse for this kind of hate-filled and bigoted comments. While Democrats and Republicans may disagree on the issues, we should all be able to agree that this kind of vile rhetoric is out of bounds. The American people want a serious, thoughtful debate of the issues. Republicans — including the Republican presidential candidates who shared the podium with Ann Coulter today — should denounce her hateful remarks."
The 2008 Republican presidential front-runner, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani of New York, who spoke to the conference just hours before Coulter, told ABC News over the weekend that Coulter's comments "were completely inappropriate and there should be no place for such name-calling in political debate."
In an interview with ABC News' Sonya Crawford, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore brushed off Coulter. "You know, she's an author," he said.
A spokesman for Sen. John McCain who was absent from the conference called Coulter's comments "offensive," adding that "political discourse ought to be more substantive."
A spokesman for former Republican Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, who preceded Coulter at the conference Friday and said that he was happy to hear that the conference would hear from her, called Coulter's words "offensive."
"Gov. Romney believes all people should be treated with dignity and respect," Romney's communications director Kevin Madden said.
Edwards, the target of Coulter's confab, wrote on his Web site that "the kind of hateful language she used has no place in political debate or our society at large."
His campaign manager, David Bonior, who attached a video link of Coulter's conference speech in an e-mail letter to supporters, tried to play up the controversy in the form of a pitch for campaign cash.
"Coulter's attack was no accident. It happened on national television at one of the year's biggest conservative conferences. Dick Cheney and most of the Republican candidates were in the audience. She was even introduced by Mitt Romney," he wrote.
Vice President Dick Cheney was not at the conference during Coulter's speech; he addressed the group on the previous day. Romney did not introduce Coulter.
Coulter Not New to Controversy
This is not the first time Coulter has been involved in a highly charged controversy over something she has said or written.
In her 2006 book, "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," Coulter went after widows of the Sept. 11 victims.
Of the group commonly known as the "Jersey Girls," Coulter wrote, "These broads are millionaire, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. … I've never seen people enjoying their husband's death so much."
In an interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Coulter said she believed everything in her book while accusing liberals of using the 9/11 widows to criticize the Bush administration.
USA Today, which planned for Coulter to write a column for its publication, dropped her after a dispute over one of her articles about the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal is ready to return to the screen—and we can happily report that it's not for Kazaam 2.
The NBA superstar and sometime actor and rapper will star in a six-episode reality series for ABC in which he will help a bunch of overweight elementary and junior high school students shed pounds while educating the kids and TV viewers about the perils of childhood obesity.
The network confirmed that work has begun on the still untitled series. O'Neal will shoot the series when not shooting hoops for the Miami Heat, coaching kids on location in Broward County, Florida. The show is slated to air this summer.
According to Variety, segments will feature O'Neal working with local politicos to overhaul school lunch programs to promote better nutrition. The show will also focus on the kids' lives outside of school and examine the reasons behind their propensity to pack it on.
O'Neal is no stranger to the reality format, having previously appeared as himself on NBC's Fear Factor and MTV's Punk'd and headlining ESPN's sports-themed Shaquille. He is also a frequent guest on TV shows, with credits ranging from Curb Your Enthusiasm and SNL to The Parkers and My Wife and Kids.
But the ABC deal marks the first time he will be headlining his own prime-time gig on a major broadcast network.
The show draws its inspiration from the U.K.'s Ian Wright's Unfit Kids, in which the British soccer star served in a similar capacity.Battling youth obesity and childhood diabetes has been one of Shaq's pet causes for several years.
The Big Daddy (he tips the scales at 325-plus) has six kids of his own.
O'Neal, whose movie credits include Blue Chips (1994), Kazaam (1996), Scary Movie 4 (2004) and The Kid and I (2005), will executive produce the series along with the company behind Wife Swap.
The B-ball hero, who turned 35 Tuesday, also serves as a reserve officer with the Miami Beach Police and in January helped to track down a hit-and-run driver. Sounds like a great premise for a new TV show.

Antonella Barba

There are a few stories circulating the Web about Antonella and her shot at being featured in Playboy Magazine. Playboy is famous for choosing controversial models to appear in its magazine - the most recent being women of the US Armed Forces - never missing the chance to take advantage of current events or matters of public interest. Who can blame them - they are trying to sell magazines!
However, as a lot of people have pointed out - the pictures of Antonella aren't popular because she's one of the hottest or sexiest nearly nude women on the web today. They are popular because it's a huge SCANDAL - a scandal of American Idol proportions. We Americans love a good sex scandal - the proof is in the fact that despite her horrific singing, Antonella has somehow hung on for another week.
A reporter for Access Hollywood was at the Playboy Mansion this week, hanging out a party to celebrate the 3rd Season Premier of E! Channel’s “The Girls Next Door” and had a little chat with Hugh Hefner regarding Antonella and her photos. After showing Hef the pics he remarked, “She really looks sexy here,” pointing out one that he liked. The reporter asked Hef if he would consider making Antonella an offer to pose for Playboy if she gets voted off of American Idol and he answered quickly that it was a “very real possibility…” then he said, “yes, absolutely.”
So whether or not she becomes the next American Idol based solely on her “assets” – Antonella will at the very least get another 15 minutes of fame featured in one of the country’s top men’s magazines. Then again – not unlike the brunette twin from last season who was featured with her sister in Maxim Magazine immediately following her departure – maybe that was the goal all along.
